Apple WWDC 2018 : iOS 12

Apple announced lots of updates in its WWDC 2018 that was on 4 June. It was all about software, not even a single hardware is announced.

The improved performance and enhanced speed

Apple promised 40% faster app launch, 50% faster launching of the keyboard and 70% faster snap especially for its iPhone 6s plus model because most of the iPhone users have 6s plus models and Apple knows it. With performance improvement, Apple tried to fix all the issues of IOS 11.

Photos improvement

Photos app got a very interesting update and now it has a new tab called “For You” that will suggest you about your photo collections like your highlighted photos of particular day, making a looped Live Photo and suggestions to share some of your best pictures with someone by recognizing the faces with the help of machine learning.

ARKit 2 new features

Argument Reality kit of Apple brings a new app called Measure that can measure any object in front of you through the camera of your iPhone or iPad just at your fingertips.

FaceTime group calling

You could do voice calls more than one but you couldn’t talk to more than one in video calling. But now, with the help of group calling you can talk to more than one but not only two or three, you can talk to thirty-two people at once and all the faces will float on the screen. That’s awesome.

The new Memoji

IOS 11 came with Animoji and 12 brought Memoji that nothing but your personalized emoji. So now, you can give your look to your emoji that will not only detect your face but also your tongue.

Stocks, News, Apple Books and Memos

In this version, the two, stocks and news are now one which brings your all favorite news source at one place. Memos are also coming to iPad. The iBook is now with the new title called Apple Book.

Do Not Disturb, Grouped Notification and Timer

We all are spending too much time on our connected devices and Apple also thinks so. That is why IOS 12 provides you a new app called Timer so you can a definite time limit of some particular apps that you use more than limit and which takes your precious time like Facebook. With this IOS 12 brings probably most awaited update that is Groped Notification so now you can group similar type of notifications on the lock screen and can also choose which notification you don’t want to see again. The Do Not Disturb can hide notification whenever you want like at night.

Siri gets smarter

Many of iPhone or iPad users don’t use Siri because of its limited ability but in IOS 12 your new Siri is smarter than previous one. Apple introduced a new feature of Siri called Shortcuts so you can set your own commend for the particular requirement. It can learn your pattern of using your device and gives you suggestions automatically.
